Effective May 1, 2024, LeClair is now a General Agency for UnitedHealthcare group plans. This increased level of partnership offers agents enhanced services, training, and commissions.
Communications
Previously, when agents had questions regarding UHC group plans, they were required to reach out to representatives at UHC. Now, as a General Agency, all communications related to Minnesota-based group clients goes through LeClair’s Group team. Quoting, enrolling, employee adds or drops, renewals, and other information is all handled by LeClair.
Commissions
Typically, commissions are paid out at 80%/20% level. However, now as a General Agency, agents receive a full commission from UHC on Minnesota group plans.
Similarly, a partnership with LeClair allows you to consolidate commissions, getting single payments rather than multiple ones.
Training
Agents associated with a General Agency also have access to additional training from UHC. Along with the numerous workshops and webinars available to all agents, UHC offers additional support and education to a General Agency.
Likewise, you get full transparency of your book of business through UHC Employer eServices®. It provides a suite of tools to simplify health plan management, including eligibility management, plan benefit information and more.

Finally, if you want to take a deeper dive into UHC’s level-funded plans, they are offering two webinars in the coming months – July 24, 2024 and September 25, 2024. The course is ideal for agents with mid-sized clients (2-300 employees) and will equip you to better position level-funded solutions to clients and prospects.
