In the past few years, AEP has been a relatively calm period, with little movement between plans. Now the CMS Final Rule, the Inflation Reduction Act, and new requirements of carriers are all disrupting the Medicare landscape, and are playing a role in how agents need to discuss AEP options with clients.

We normally see about 20% of Medicare beneficiaries shopping for plans during AEP, but this year that number is expected to jump to nearly 70%.
