The Annual Enrollment Period is approaching – and if you’re not prepared for it – it’s going to get here faster than you’d like. LeClair’s mission is “to ensure that every person in every community across America has a well-trained, well supported health and life insurance agent to guide their needs.” We’re here to provide the training, resources, and support to make this year’s AEP successful.
Now is the time make sure you have the following items checked off:
Certifications
All our carrier partners are actively helping agents with certifications. Numerous training sessions are posted on our Agent Portal and more may be available directly through the carriers. Although we’ve tried to get all carrier training included on the Agent Portal, visit their websites or broker portals for additional training opportunities.
Likewise, you can get Medicare training through AHIP. Their CMS-compliant training is updated annually for accuracy and relevance and is the health insurance industry’s most widely recognized Medicare, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training.
Technology
We are anticipating higher than normal “shopping” this year and your clients may be looking for different options for coverage. With this potential influx, technology is going to be key to a successful AEP.
Medicare Connector is an online, single sign-in quote and enroll tool for Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug, and Medicare Supplement plans. It’s designed to help you better serve your clients while staying compliant. You can use it to quote MAPD, Med Supp, PDP and Ancillary Products. Access to Medicare Connector is done through our Agent Portal.
There are several exciting new components in Medicare Connector this year, including RetireFlo and PlanSmart. Join us on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 1 pm CST for our monthly Medicare Connector webinar to learn more about these exciting tools and how they can improve your efficiency this enrollment season.
Additionally, we offer access to several other reporting tools, such as CSG (also available on the Agent Portal), HealthSherpa, and Benefitter. Whether you are working with Medicare, individual plans or group benefits, we have the tools to help you.
Communications
You also want to keep your clients informed about the latest AEP information. Many of them may not be familiar with CMS changes, the prescription drug cap or other important news. They rely on you, their local health insurance expert, for much of this information.
If you have a website, it should include these critical updates.
Likewise, LeClair offers many materials you can send to clients. Our Agency Marketing Platform (AMP), powered by Brandfolder, gives you access to brochures, flyers, postcards and more you can customize and distribute to clients. To access AMP, visit the Agent Portal -> Tools and Resources -> Resources -> Links or contact your Sales Relationship Manager.
Meetings
Among the templates within AMP are ones to promote educational seminars. If you haven’t scheduled events for your clients (and potential clients), schedule them as soon as you can and utilize these invites to draw people in.
Face-to-face is one of the best ways to get information to people, especially when they may be looking at changing plans or need to get updates on changes. If you haven’t referenced our Roadmap to AEP landing page, we invite you to watch the videos, access the various guides and utilize our monthly checklist.
Client meetings, ANOC events, and continued communication with the people who trust you with health insurance guidance should all be part of your plan from now through the end of AEP.
