Don’t Let Your Life Insurance Discussions End When LIAM Does

As we near the end of September, Life Insurance Awareness Month is coming to a close. But just because LIAM is ending, don’t let the discussions about the benefits of life insurance stop.

During this month, LeClair and our life insurance partner, DBS, have offered tips and information on why life insurance should be an important part of your client’s overall financial package. We discussed myths, the reasons for needing it, why you should talk to your clients, and more.

We know some of you may be intimidated by adding products such as life insurance to your book of business. You haven’t offered it before, there’s a learning curve, and most people don’t want to talk about their own end of life.

LIAM Recap

We began September with an introduction to LIAM – including a fantastic landing page from DBS – and this year’s theme: Life Insurance…For When Life Happens. As LIAM continued, we focused on you, as a health insurance agent, and how adding life insurance to your product portfolio is easier than you think. It starts with basic conversations with clients and we shared a great brochure from Lincoln Financial on conversation starters. It helps explain how life insurance isn’t as costly as many people think, discusses the value, and covers the benefits.

Finally, last week we provided What you need to know about life insurance, an easy-to-understand brochure from Life Happens. It covers what life insurance is, how much it costs, the different types of life insurance and how much a person generally needs.

Use What You Learned

The goal of LIAM is to educate people about life insurance. Our goal with you was to provide the resources to make you more comfortable talking to your clients about life insurance. We now hope your goal is to reach out to clients to help educate them about life insurance. When you meet with clients, remind them that you can be their one-stop shop. You have access to not only health insurance, but ancillary products (like first dollar), annuities, and, of course, life insurance.
